The Ioannina Mountaineering Club is more than just an organization—it is a community of people who deeply love the mountains and share the same passion: to move, to explore, to climb high.
We operate in the heart of Epirus, with the region’s stunning mountains as our playground—from Tzoumerka and the Zagorochoria to Smolikas and Gamila. Here, every trail has a story, every peak has a reward.
What We Do
Every year, we organize a comprehensive program of hikes for all skill levels—from beginners taking their first steps in the mountains to experienced hikers seeking their next challenge. At the same time, we organize climbing activities, seminars, long-distance hikes, and school field trips, while placing special emphasis on protecting the natural environment.
Our Philosophy
We believe that the mountain teaches us patience, humility, and camaraderie. It reminds us that value lies not only at the summit, but in every step of the climb.
